Smith String Quartet
The Smith String Quartet is a musical group of four siblings: Harry, Rachel, Ben, and Katie. The Smith family moved to Waco in 1995 and within two years, all four siblings each began to learn a stringed instrument. They discovered later that they had accidentally chosen the exact instruments required for a quartet, and in 2000, the four Smith children began to play together for the first time. Since then, their ensemble playing has taken them to Sweden, Italy, Pennsylvania, Florida, and New Orleans. They enjoy playing at their church, at the Salvation Army, and at local weddings.

Harry Smith
Harry is currently a senior at Baylor, studying Classics and Religion. His current hobbies include studying, playing guitar and violin, trying to learn the piano, running, and excessive amounts of basketball. An avid Baylor sports fan, he tries to attend as many Baylor sporting events as possible, and follow them on TV or the radio when he is too busy. He also enjoys spending time with family, learning new things, and staying involved in his local Church as well. He hopes to continue his studies in Seminary, following his college graduation in May 2010.

Rachel Smith
Rachel Smith, 17, enjoys all kinds of music. She has been playing the violin for 13 years, and she also plays piano. She is currently a senior at Waco High School. She loves to play tennis, is learning guitar, and sings on the praise team at church.

Ben Smith
Ben is sophomore at Baylor University. A Classics major, Ben loves to study ancient texts in ancient languages. He has played the cello since the age of four. He still enjoys taking and teaching cello lessons. Ben is currently working on the Bach Cello Suites. His hobbies include playing the piano, bicycling, Sudoku, swimming, basketball, and reading.

Katie (Smith) James
Katie graduated from Baylor in 2008 and is now completing her second year as the orchestra and Latin teacher at Texas Christian Academy in Waco. Katie was married on November 21 to Matt James, also a Baylor graduate and an English teacher at TCA. Katie will once again spend this summer directing Prelude: Gloria, a music camp for children in Waco and an affiliate camp of Credo Chamber Music in Oberlin, Ohio.
